We’re cleaning up the User List for this website so if you were removed inadvertently please see the above Google Groups email to get our active Club Members re-directed to that site for correspondence and club activities.

Meanwhile we plan to maintain a Web presence for JCARS to attract new Ham’s to our Club or anyone in Jackson County (and all WNC) with an interest in Ham Radio to find our meet-ups.

It’s almost the New Year and if Santa happens to bring you a Radio or you have RF on your mind please consider joining us Saturday, 9am, January 6th at the Sylva McDonalds for informal discussions about radio.

Then on Jan 20th the club will have their monthly JCARS meeting at 9am in the Jackson County Recreation Center. This month we will welcome our newly elected board members and participate in the planning of our 2024 Club activities.

Anyone with an interest in Ham Radio is welcome to attend these meetups.

Please join us at the Sylva McDonalds on Saturday, December 2nd , 9am for coffee/breakfast if you have any interest in Amateur Radio, are already a Ham or thinking about becoming one.

Our next Club Meeting will be Saturday, December 16th, 9am at the Cullowhee Recreation Center, Topic TBD.

Jackson County Amateur Radio Service (JCARS) holds its monthly meetings at the Jackson County Recreation Center on the 3rd Saturday of the month, at 9:00 AM, and has a breakfast get-together, at 9:00 AM, on the 1st Saturday of the month at the McDonalds in Sylva, NC. Any licensed operator or anyone interested in becoming a licensed operator is welcome to join us. We have a Check-in net every Thursday evening at 8:00 PM on frequency 147.345 with a tone of 151.4.

The program for the December meeting of JCARS will be either vintage radios or transmission lines presented by Dale W4OP. Please join us at the Jackson County Recreation Center, located at 107 and Speedwell, at 0900.

Hello all interested in ham (amateur) radio. Our Next meeting is tomorrow at 0900 at the Jackson County Recreation Center. Come and join us in fellowship around ham radio.

Our July 21st meeting will be held at Ryan’s in Sylva. Breakfast 0800, meeting starts at 0900 and our program starts as soon as we complete our business meeting. The program for July should be very interesting with a special guest speaker. Tom Medlin, W5KUB, is the host of a weekly ham radio program and does live stream broadcast from most major ham-ventions across the US. Come early, 0800, and meet with Tom. You can look him up at W5KUB.com. Thanks to Jeff KK4QBC for making the arrangements with Tom.

The JCARS June 16th meeting will be held at Ryan’s restaurant in Sylva at 0900. Come early and join us for breakfast. Our program will be getting ready for the ARRL Summer Field Day, next Saturday, June 23.
